2025 AGE 5 to 10 SUMMER CLASS OPTIONS |
Mon | Oil Pastel: Age 5 and up Learn how to mix oil pastels then apply their various colors and add layers to achieve the desired texture and realism. We teach them how to blend using baby oil. Mixed Media: Age 5 and up Creating a shadowbox of an art’s life underground artwork allows students to create a little imaginative world in a 3D box. It challenges students to be innovative with materials, and focus on craftsmanship. Watercolor: Age 5 and up Break down the floral structure into simple shapes and explain how to draw and paint with watercolor. | |
Tue | | Acrylic Painting: Age 5 and up Learn acrylic painting techniques with a focus on using color, modeling form, and composition. Soft Pastel: Age 6 and up Explore materials and enjoy experimenting with different colors, sizes, and patterns, inspired by firework displays. Manga: Age 5 and up Learn the techniques of easy step-by-step instructions on how to draw Manga. |
Wed | 3D House and Store: Age 5 and up Build a two-level building where the first floor is a store and upstairs is a living space with different furnishings and decorations. 3D Jurassic Park: Age 5 and up Go back in time when dinosaurs roamed. Make different dinosaurs and you can enjoy your incredible prehistoric diorama. 3D Future Underwater City: Age 5 and up Build an imaginary future underwater home where you can make different kinds of fish, sunken ships, and treasure chests. | |
Thu | Clay: Age 5 and up Create almost any kind of sculpture. Students follow an easy step-by-step course of instruction or work independently. Good for all ages. | |
Fri | Drawing: Age 5 and up Draw with different materials using pencil, pen, and color pencils to create value and textures. Students learn about drawing techniques of pencil shading and how line can be used to create the illusion of depth and dimension. |

Pencil Drawing (Ages 11 and up) Learn various tips and tricks that will help you refine an simple landscape sketch and turn it into a realistic landscape drawing. We will be learning how to draw landscape with a pencil. Pencil drawing is perhaps the most accessible and important learning experience for artists. Portfolio Camp (High School Students only) Students will create a wide-ranging portfolio that displays his/her technical skills and individuality. Especially high school juniors who will be planning on completing their portfolio this summer. Students will talk to Mrs. Yun about the class schedule and will review their portfolios first.
