2024 AGE 5 to 10 SUMMER CLASS OPTIONS |
Mon | Oil Painting: Age 5 and up In this lesson, students learn the full palette and how to mix oil paints then apply its various colors add layers to achieve the desired texture and realism. Watercolor: Age 5 and up It is a watercolor class with a focus on water reflections. Other concepts and techniques related to watercolor are covered in detail and practice. Mixed Media: Age 5 and up Create a mixed media realistic drawing of a cat coming out of the box with full shading. | |
Tue | Acrylic Painting: Age 5 and up Create beautiful still-life scenes on canvas. Students will be introduced to fundamental painting skills using acrylics, as well as essential drawing skills in an interesting and informative format. Soft Pastel: Age 6 and up Students learn how to draw a peacock and apply color using chalk pastels. This unique drawing class explores color mixing, contrast, observational drawing, and blending techniques. Manga: Age 5 and up Learn the techniques of easy step-by-step instructions of how to draw Manga. | |

There are twinkling lights in the background used as lightening bugs at night. 3D House: Age 5 and up This village can be a home of the mystical creatures. Build a village situated in the giant tree. 3D Camping: Age 5 and up Create a fun amusement park where you make all the rides to move, with colorful stores, people, and background. |
Thu | Clay: Age 5 and up Create almost any kind of sculpture. Students follow an easy step-by-step course of instruction or work independently. Good for all ages. | |
Fri | Pencil Drawing: Age 5 and up Draw with different materials using pencil, pen, and color pencils to create value and textures. Students learn about drawing techniques of pencil shading and how line can be used to create the illusion of depth and dimension. |

Oil Painting (Ages 11 and up) Still-life oil painting teaches perspective, color, and form with instruction tailored to the student’s level of knowledge and skill. Tuition: Half-day one week -$250 / Full-day one week – $350 | |
Pencil Drawing (Ages 11 and up) Learn various tips and tricks that will help you refine an simple landscape sketch and turn it into a realistic landscape drawing. We will be learning how to draw landscape with a pencil. Pencil drawing is perhaps the most accessible and important learning experience for artists. Acrylic Texture Painting (Ages 11 and up) Create a realist high-relief acrylic painting using modeling paste. Modeling paste is a thick medium that works to add dimension to our artwork and projects. Because it is such a thick medium, the best tools to use are a palette knife, butter knife, or paint scraper. Tuition: Half-day one week -$250 / Full-day one week – $350 | |
Oil Painting of Portrait (Ages 11 and up) This realism class is for beginners who want to get started or painters who want to stay involved in an upbeat class. Portfolio Camp (High School Students only, Chantilly locations only) Student will create a wide ranging portfolio that displays his/her technical skill and individuality. Especially high school juniors who will be planning on complete their portfolio this summer. Students will talk to Mrs. Yun about class schedule and will review their portfolio first.
